Ghost talk to me, the beginning....
The day I realized ghosts or something actually exist and that I had a "talent" for garnering their attention was back in 98, when I was still a teenager. Our family had just recently moved into a recently purchased home and within a few weeks, my ghostly tale began.
The first occurrence was one night in my little brothers room, that night my little brother and my father had been playing a video game while laying on the end of the bed. I'd went into to watch them playing. Well, my little brother liked the movie Toy Story back then and consequently he had a bunch of Toy Story dolls. One doll in particular the Woody doll, set on his shelf above the headboard of the bed. It was one of those dolls that had pull cord that could be pulled and it would say different lines from the movie.
This one though had long ago had the pull string broken that allowed it to speak and it had not worked for a long time. My brother still liked to play with it now and again, so my mom would keep it on the shelf instead of his toy box. For the most part it sat unmolested with it's plastic hat sitting a bit' crooked, just as a room decoration.
That day I was sitting in the room watching the game play, when the doll suddenly began to talk. Just out of the blue, for no reason at all and totally untouched and loud enough for all of us to hear it, the doll, said one of the lines from the movie!
We all noticed instantly it was the doll and the three of us all looked at each other in shock. We all knew the doll was broken, and as such we discussed for a moment just how odd it was that the doll had suddenly been able to speak. After a couple laughs though, we just shrugged it off, thinking it may have had one last pull left in it before the pull string had broken. My dad and my brother went back to playing their game with me still watching them. Within minutes the Woody doll, suddenly spoke a second time, this time though it was a different line from the movie.
As you can imagine this second time got our attention in a big way! What did we the three "males in the house" do when the doll spoke that second time. We did what all tough guys in this situation would do... -We all started yelling for mom!
To explain why the doll had spoken of course, after all she did put it on the shelf!
This was the first time in my life that I felt as if there may be more out there than what we can see.
"There's a snake in my boot"
That's what the doll said on the second time it spoke. This experience made me a believer in ghost or something strange happening and affirmed that there are things that happen in my life that are unexplainable. That was my first experience with strange events, I didn't know it then but it was just the beginning of my dealing with strange happenings and what I believe are ghosts trying to communicate with me.
A week or two went by and we all started feeling like the talking doll was just one of those unexplainable events, but then I had a second experience that changed my opinion right quick like....
I had just gotten out of school and I'd decided to take a shower before dinner. My parents had a wine colored shower curtain in the bathroom at this time, even though it was colored, you could just barely see through it. As I was in the shower, I noticed and then clearly watched a shadow of a man enter the bathroom and then slowly walk to the center of the room, where it stopped and turned directly towards the shower, I could see him through the curtain. I thought that my father had walked into the bathroom for some reason, but as I peeked my head around the shower curtain to ask him to ask what he was doing, I was a little shocked to find that there was no one in the room with me. I quickly finished my shower and told my parents about it and explained the experience to them. All they had to say was that my father hadn't entered the bathroom and that I was seeing things.
Not even a week later, I was again taking a shower, by now, I'd stopped thinking about the silhouette of the man I'd seen through the show curtain only a few days before. As I finished, I looked down and reached to turn off the faucet and to the left side and from behind the shower curtain, simultaneously reaching for the faucet was a hand!
This hand reaching into the shower was just inches from my own. The hand though wasn't a normal hand this one was covered in blood and appeared to be completely charred, as if it had been set on fire!
Shock and fear ran through my body as I frantically snatched open the shower current, grabbed the towel off the rack and ran from the bathroom. Wet and with only a towel around me I ran into the living room scared to death. All I could think of was getting a telephone book so I could call an exorcist to stop these things from happening to me!
My parents told me later that it was funny! They found it amusing my running into the living room dripping wet and yelling that we needed and exorcist! They of course didn't believe me, and while I endured their laughing at me about my wanting to call an exorcist, they did believe I thought I had seen something...
Wasn't long before other things around our new home started happening that got my parents to stop their laughing and instead start taking my "incidents" a little more serious...
Next up Episode 3...
Laugh at me will they!?
